Our music can be loosely described as Progressive Melodic Stoner Rock. Enough of a mouthful? We don't really have the ability to truly stick to one genre, but one thing you'll always find is a source of melody and strong rhythms, usually with some twiddly bits inserted by Tubb. The best idea to get a real feel for what we do is to have a listen (more tracks on the myspace ). You'll no doubt decide that we play some other unrelated genre, who knows. The balance between having enough variation between songs but not so much that everything is in a different genre is a tough one, especially for a band with such mixed taste. We're really trying though...
Currently we've got four completed songs: Lying Awake, September, In the Light of Dawn and Honour, Glory, Death.
Lying Awake is essentially what the above description encapsulates, containing much melody from guitar coupled with complimentary
vocal melody but also containing repititious heavier riffing that brings it back to a stoner rock feel.
September is a primarily clean song, with a fairly bad demo available on the myspace. It's a fairly slow and
melancholic but still includes some distortion in the bridge for variety sake. Also our shortest song at somewhere around five minutes (yeah, shortest...)
In the Light of Dawn is our latest song as has no recording as of yet. Its central focus is ringing clean melodic phrases
with contrasting chorus, which gradually gets darker to the point of a heavy and aggressive final bridge. Performed at the Maze for the first
time it looks to be a staple of our future set lists.
Honour, Glory, Death is our dip into heavy metal riffing, primarily Melodic Death Metal. Whilst not really like anything else
we have or are likely to have in the future it is incredibly fun to play and hopefully one that all those with a heavier taste
can really appreciate.
Currently our only cover is Fear of a Blank Planet by Porcupine Tree. We play the shortened radio edit, just so as to keep our set from being too long in between all of our 7 minute songs... However we don't like to play covers whereever possible so there's a reasonable chance we'll never play it again now that we have more original material.
